Steve Jobs biography is top-selling book within the U. S.

In its first week for sale, Walter Isaacson's biography of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs sold 379, 000 copies within the U. S., which makes it undoubtedly the top-selling book in the united states.
The book, titled simply "Steve Jobs, " also achieved the greatest week of sales for just about any book within the U. S. for nearly per year.
That's based on data from Nielsen's BookScan service, as reported by TheBookseller.com.
Published by Simon & Schuster on October 24, the book outsold the following bestselling book from the week, John Grisham's "The Litigators, " by a lot more than three to 1. After only six days of sales, the Jobs biography has already been the 18th-bestselling book from the year, based on BookScan's figures.

Simon & Schuster's decision to maneuver in the book's publication with a month after Jobs' death October 5 seems to have paid back. Fueled by intense interest back in the tech visionary's life and career, the biography arrived on the wave of publicity, including appearances by Isaacson on CBS's "60 Minutes" and CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight. "
The 656-page book traces Jobs' 55 many years of life, from his hippie youth and co-founding of Apple in his parents' Silicon Valley garage to his ouster through the company, triumphant return 11 years later and remarkable successes during the past decade using the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
The book has produced lots of headlines, including how Jobs regretted waiting too much time after his cancer diagnosis to obtain surgery that may have saved him.
It retails for $35, although some sellers are pricing it nearer to $20.
